BOBYN Hopper wagons are usually used for track repair purpose by Indian Railways and are not used to move freight or goods. These wagons are opened from its top and filled with trackside stones those can be discharged from side-bottom doors to drop stones on the sides of a railway track. For being fitted with same bogies and couplers, these wagons can run at a maximum speed of 60 kmph when loaded and 80kmph when empty as similar to other wagons.
