EMU stands for Electric Multiple Unit that is a self driven train that requires no locomotive to run. Similar like an electric locomotive, the following 1400 HP Hybrid EMU train gets electricity from overhead electric wires and can operate at a maximum speed limit of 110 kmph. EMUs are generally consist of one or many motor units those may be coupled as per the requirements. Indian Railways operates these trains usually between those stations which have specific height and standards of platforms only.
