After Grand success of WDP 4, Indian Railways added another gem to its crown with 4500 HP, WDP 4B locomotive that was a grand successor but loco pilots were still facing the same issue of vision towards railway track from long distance due to one cab. As a best alternate, WDP 4D was born with dual cab options including more advance features that is capable of operating at maximum speed limit of 160kmph with hauling 25 Passenger Carriages.
