Multiple Unit Trains are the trains those are self driven and requires no locomotive to run. These trains are powered with on-board diesel engines or electric engines and are consist of one or more engines coupled as per requirements for running on specific routes and trains. Usually Indian Railways operates three types of multiple units including DMUs, MEMUs and EMUs.
